What a pain this one was! Once the walls of the bowl got too thin, it would not stay round! I couldn't use a shear scraper to finish it, so spent lots of time sanding. It didn't matter how fast or slow it turned, the wood would just pull in the wrong direction.

Round means no edges
I got into wood turning several years ago, found that I liked it, and was fairly good at it. It wasn't long until I started doing segmented pieces. After a while, I began to develop an idea that round wood should have round corners. The square corners of the segmented pieces, although pretty, didn't seem to go with the flow of the round bowl shape. I started to develop an idea of how round shapes might work in round bowls. Here is one of my first projects in this line of thought.
